Pond Leaks
Leak Assessements
-
Leak Assessment - First lets start with how big is the problem and how much is caused by evaporation vs. an acutal leak below the surface. This is a 24hr test to measure the rate of water loss. A report is given that calculates the volume of the pond and rate of leak compared to expected evaporation.
-
Leak Detection - If we determine the leak is signifcantly more than evaporation, we attempt to locate the source of the leak. This can involve underwater cameras, dye, or in some cases divers to locate. A detailed report is provided to provided with options for remedy and estimated costs.
Pond Dredging
North Texas is known for its muddy creeks and runoff issues, and over the years, this along with decomposing organic material creates layers of silt. This reduces the volume of water a pond can hold, increasing evaporation rates due to the wind and sun. While there are sonar surveys that can be performed to give a depth reading, results are mixed regarding sediment thickness that has to be dredged before reaching a suitable bottom. A physical probe around the pond is the best way to fully understand just how thick this sediment layer is. The data collected could mean the difference budget wise as most dredging companies have to charge per cubic ton of silt pulled out and hauled away.
Dredging
Dredge Assessements
-
We determine the overall depth of the pond and the volume of water to create a base line.
-
If the volume of the water is considered too shallow and a dredge is needed, we determine how thick the sediment is and approximate how many cubic tons will need to be dredged using phycical probes across key areas of the pond.
